The MEINZ Nexus is a database of information about NZ people, companies, services and products located in or assocaited with the Middle East region. The Nexus is fully secure and access is by permission only. The aim of the Nexus is to enhance connections between NZ exporters of goods and services to people and companies in the region. Through the Nexus connections can be made and NZ business enhanced. There is no cost associated with the Nexus as it is a fully sponsored system.

New Zealand reinforced its bilateral relations with the United Arab Emirates and increased its engagement on a governmental level with the two-day UAE visit of its Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Honorable Murray McCully.
During the visit, Mr. McCully travelled between the UAE's capital of Abu Dhabi and the emirate of Dubai to meet with his counterpart, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - the UAE Foreign Minister, as well as with the Emirates Airlines' Board.
In addition, the Honorable Minister also met with the MEINZ groups from Dubai and Abu Dhabi at a function in Dubai. This was the first time that MEINZ have met with the Minister and is a testament to the group's growing success.
Over the years, New Zealand and the UAE's trade relations have steadily increased with two-way trade amounting to US$ 774 million during the period of December 2011 up to November 2012, from US$ 454 million during the same period in 2008-2009. During this time, New Zealand exports into the UAE have consistently grown year-on-year from US$ 237 million in 2009, US$ 301 million in 2010, US$ 417 million in 2011 and US$ 507 million in 2012.
New Zealand's key exports to the UAE include dairy products, eggs and honey, as well as meat products and machinery. The bulk of New Zealand imports from the UAE include mineral and oil products, as well as plastic, glass and glassware.
